The flood has struck again! Yup. So for those who didn't hear the story the first time of how I flooded our laundry room, let me back up a few weeks. When we moved here we bought a brand new front loader washing machine. I loved it and was excited every week when I got to do laundry! How crazy is that?! It's true! Then it happened... the machine started clicking off in the middle of the loads. After about a week of this I got out the owner's manual and started reading on the potential causes. The most plausible seemed to be "load needs to be redistributed"... simple enough. Silly me thought the machine wouldn't unlock the door while there's water in the drum.... you see where I'm going with this. So I opened the door and the water POURED out! I slammed the door shut but a sock was stuck in the gasket and water was continuing to trickle out so I had to open the door a second time to throw the sock back in. Well we fiddled with the drain hose, thought the problem was solved but then it came back this week. I was literally yelling at the machine... with not the best of language either. So Justin decided to take care of the problem for me.
Wednesday night he called GE and they suggested rebooting the computer... simple enough so he did that and started another load of laundry to see if the problem was resolved (our clothes have never been so clean). 15 minutes into the load the darn machine clicked off again. SO... Justin decides he needs to check the pump filter and make sure it clean. This is easier done when the drum ISN'T full of water!!! He popped the panel off on the bottom of the machine and there's a little chute for the water. So he got a 7"x11" pan to catch the water and begins to slowly drain the water. The first two tries went well... the third time he couldn't get the doo da back in the hole and the water kept pouring... faster and faster. I stood there freaking out in my mind but he seemed so calm it was comical. When it was all said and done, 5 gallons of water or so were evenly dispersed across the laundry room floor BUT he found the problem.
About a month ago I tried to wash an old teddy bear that use to be his as a child. The bear stunk and needed cleaning if our kids were to ever play with it. Well, the bear didn't quite survive... his head ripped open and stuffing spilled out. Quite the laceration :) Turns out a bunch of the stuffing got sucked up by the pump on the washing machine and was the source of the problem. By the way, laundry room floor has never been so clean!

Wow!! What an adventure! I guess I should take a lesson from you and not wash stuffed animals.. we have a few I've been thinking of washing! Guess I won't =)
oh goodness...washing machines...our laundry room floor has had it's "cleanest floor in the entire house" moments too.
That was hysterical... after the fact! I'm so glad he found the problem. Hope you're doing well! Love ya!
