Baby Shower

Shortly after the last miscarriage we changed churches and I began volunteering with Operation Christmas Child.  Mary is the Regional Coordinator for OCC... and is a kindred spirit :)  Her husband works with Justin (or should I say was in charge of Justin until a few days ago) at NPS and they have become good friends.  Mary and Jon prayed over us after the last miscarriage and have faithfully prayed that the Lord would bless us with a child.  When we told them that I was pregnant (again)... they immediately laid hands on and prayed for this baby.  Ever since I told Mary about this pregnancy, she's been wanting to celebrate this baby with a Baby Shower.  Our move is rapidly approaching so last Thursday Baby Boy had his first Baby Shower.  It was a wonderful night filled with much laughter and rejoicing at God's goodness.

My friend Cathy volunteered to be the photographer and she did a wonderful job capturing the evening.  She also managed to get me to pose for the first baby bump profile shot!  Ha ha.  I was about 21 1/2 weeks... and I promise, this picture doesn't do justice to how big I've gotten!  Or at least how big I feel like I've gotten ;)

The big surprise of the night was that my mom had flown in for the shower!  I knew my aunt was coming down but mom wasn't going to come due to all the recent traveling for my brother's wedding.  I guess my aunt called and laid a major guilt trip on her.  LOL.  My husband knew she was coming as did several other ladies... and I had no clue!  I still can't believe they pulled it off without so much as a hint!

Mom made the diaper cake and I think she did such a fantastic job!  SOOOO CUTE!!

The cake was incredible!  White (with some chocolate marbling) and a Bavarian Cream filling with freshly slice strawberries!  YUM!  Let me just say that it's not fair that such good food is before me when there's the mandatory "weigh in" every 4 weeks.  :)

We're so thankful for this precious Baby Boy and for friends who are rejoicing and celebrating the blessing with us!  Baby Boy is getting more and more active... or I guess I'm just really starting to feel the constant movement.  The movements and kicks are a reminder that God has answered our prayers...
