Shortly after moving to Cali my cousin who lives a few hours away called to see if I could help out. She has 3 little boys and one has terrible food allergies. She was going to be taking him to a hospital in Denver for 2 weeks and wondered if I might be able to come up and watch the 2 year old and 6 year old during the day so her husband wouldn't have to burn through vacation days. I don't do much during the days and any TV shows I'm missing can be DVR'd (ha ha... just kidding) so why not. This will be great practice for having kids!
Oh my gosh... there's a reason they don't come out able to say "NO". I don't get it, they can tell me know but I'm not allowed to tell them no. Such a double standard. I've also discovered that 5 o'clock is a bad hour of the day... everyone seems to enter meltdown and the fighting begins. I was on the phone with Justin when it hit yesterday... the baby was screaming the 6 year old saying "I didn't do it" and Justin was hearing all this. So I said what any loving wife would say, "You sure you want 6 kids?!"
Tonight Justin is driving up so tomorrow I'm thinking about going to the mall. Maybe a crystal store with the 2 year old who likes to touch everything :) Better yet I'll go shopping and leave Justin at home with them! Ha! That should break him of wanting 6 kids. These are good kids... but they're little boys which means all energy and the 2 year old is at that fun age where if you don't give him what he wants... he pitches a fit. It's pretty funny to watch. I've gotten a few good laughs from it. Maybe I'll pick the mall 45 minutes away and let Justin drive while the boys shriek and Kung Fu Panda fight in the backseat :) Cruel I know... but so is having 6 kids for a stay at home wife!
